Dear Experts,
Please help me understand what are the implications from FI and Controlling area in different manufacturing scenarios as
- Discrete
- Repetitive
- Process
Based on the nature of these industries and the processes that are involved at various steps from Raw Material to Finished goods how FI and CO will differ.
Ex: Materials - Sub Assemblies - Finished Goods in Discrete
Ex: Ingredients - Intermediates - Co Products/Finished Goods in Process
Appreciate your inputs.
Thanks
Rajesh
A basic thing to keep in mind is that Discrete manufacturing is for items manufactured 'one at a time' whereas Repetitive manufacturing is for items repeatedly manufactured. Therefore, backflushing is more commonly found with Repetitive manufacturing than Discrete manufacturing.

Dear Rajesh,
In Discrete Scenario: The Production order will be used a costing object and all the costs gets
booked against this order and used for settlement.
In the same Discrete scenario a product cost collector can also be used a cost collecting object when
order split comes into picture. In that case in OPL8,under controlling tab page the check box for cost
collector has to be included for that order type.
Here the system sums up the BOM+routing cost during product costing.
In REM - Repetitive manufacturing scenario,A product cost collector will be used a cost collecting
object and without a product cost collector no confirmations can be made for any planned order or a
material. Here no production order concept ,only planned orders. This product cost collector will be
having an order number which will be used for settlement.
Here the system sums up the BOM+rate routing cost.
In PP-PI - Process order scenario,a process order will be used for cost collection.
Check and revert back.

Hi.
I have a question..
I don't know how to configure the system to control the variances when repetitive manufacturing confirmation are entered.
I need to set up a limit for the variance, as example a 10% vs the standar cost estimate. This with the finallity of re-confirm if something is wrong...
Any support is welcome!
