SAP on Oracle RAC

Dear All,

We are in implementation phase of project and deciding upon the use of Oracle RAC instance. Planned version of Oracle RAC is 12c on AIX 7.1 or latest.

Can even the SAP HA (ASCS with enqueue replication) could be integrated with the Oracle Clusterware?

Is it possible to install SAP on Oracle RAC one node? SAP Note 105047 - "Support for Oracle functions in the SAP environment" and 740897 - Info about the scope of the Oracle license; Required Oracle options clearly indicates that: RAC One Node (Oracle 11g or higher) is not allowed with SAP, however still i believe technically possible to configure SAP on One node Oracle RAC Instance. Is there any way to have it under SAP support?

Is it Possible to perform Storage based replication from Oracle RAC (Prod) to Single Instance Oracle ( Non-RAC) (DR)? If yes, how does DR Oracle will read redo logs and tablespaces? and How does database will come up running?

Thanks,

Abhishek

    Hello Abhishek

    I will try to reply questions 1 and 3

    Yes RAC will require ASCS replication to run the cluster. Clusterware takes care of the MS and Enqueue replication.

    Yes, in this case SAP does not care about DataGuard but you have dedicated Oracle info such as the following;
