Hi pls check the reply in one of the threads that Mr. Dharma gave:
Scope of planning is used to run mrp for
1. Several plants
2. One mrp area
3. Multiple mrp areas
4. Combination of plant & mrp area
To create a scope of planning use tcode OM0E.
1. Give alphanumeric no. to create scope of planning.
2. Assign your Plants & save.
3. Use tcode MD01 to run scope of planning, enter your scope.
4. Make tick mark in parallel processing in initial screen of MD01. (bottom)
5. Now you can see the result in MD04.
6. Before run MRP, input your server name in Define parallel processing in MRP in customized setting.

I u want to run MRP for materials of mpre than 1 plant, you can go for scope of planning..
THe customizing path is SPROProduction>Material Requirements Planning-->Define Parallel Processing in MRP
In OM0E you need o enter all the plants..and based on this scope of planning you can create variants which can be scheduled using MDBT to run in back ground.

The scope of planning ia mainly used to group the number of plants or MRP area.
If you want to run the MRP for multiple plant, you can create Scope of planning for all those plants and in MD01 you can enter that scope of planning to run the MRP.

Manish
