The NT plugin is redundant and does not support java or end to end SSO in all cases it is not recommended to use this plugin anymore.

LDAP can connect to any v3 LDAP directory server (including AD). It uses basic LDAP protocol and needs to be encrypted with SSL to hide users passwords. LDAP looks up users/groups via CN/DN

The AD plugin contains the latest options/AD specific extensions when connecting to AD (only) including kerberos/NTLM and locating users/groups via SID/DN. The AD plugin is also the only full featured choice when using multi domains or multiple AD forests (3.1 or later). The AD plugin also supports SSO via IIS or built in vintela (java SSO built into our product) so users can sign into the product automatically without the use of 3rd party products.

    Regards,

    Tim

    Hi,

when using the BOBJ server software you have the option to let users use their credentials (username and password) maintained in external authentication systems (like an LDAP server or an Active Directory Server) in order logon into your BOBJ portal (InfoView).

When the user selects a specific authentication type, BOBJ tries to authenticate the user credentials against the appropriate authentication system. Please note that the connections to your external authentification systems must be pre-configured using the Central Management Console (abbrv. CMC) which is a web-based (like the InfoView) administration tool. Only after that you may be able to login using an authentification type other than Enterprise (This corresponds to the BOBJ-native users, like the administrator ).

For more information on LDAP and Windows AD please look for related resources in the Internet.

    Regards,

    Stratos
