Beginner: Difference between Read Access Logging and User interface logging

Hello there,

I am completely new to SAP. My company wants to implement a new logging solution, because of the new data protection law. My task is it , to point out the differences between the two solutions RAL and UI logging and give an evaluation. I know what both solutions are able to ( I have read a lot of textes) but I am not able to estimate, which is better etc. or what are the main differences..Or is RAL = UI i rly do not know

Furthermore, I have read, that SAL is also an opportunity.

I hope you can help me. If you want, you can also respond in German

Edit 1: referring to this thread :

the same question was asked 2 years ago, but nobody answered.

It would also help me, if you could share some user experience..

    Hello experts,
unfortunately I still need an answer or a confirmation. But I also can give some input now. From the functionality point of view, they are able to log the same. What I learned about their differences so far is:

-that RAL is integrated in NETweaver 7.40> so we have an easy "installation/implementation"
-Ral is good, when targeting specific tables or data sets
-performance issues, when logging too many data > so just for small systems
-just available for some channels (RFC, WEb-Dynpro etc.)

-UI logging supports more possible applications, for example HANA, S4/HANA > cloud etc, Ui5/fiori
-you need to install the platform-specific logging software components according to your requirements > implementation not that fast/easy/inexpensive
-SAP says no performance issues (lightweight...)

    -suitable in bigger systems

I hope you can help me to confirm, if these pieces of information are proper =) Implementation experiences are also very welcome.
