What this message in the event log of Web application server means. We are on BOXI R2 SP3 on IIS.

=======================================

The description for Event ID ( 34700 ) in Source ( BusinessObjects_w3wp ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Transport error: Invalid object reference.

.

============================================

Any help is appreciated..

Thanks,

This is simply a message that indicates an event that is not handeled properly in the BO application code. This could be someting rather irrelevant (like a user trying to access a report he has no access to) or someting more serious like network issues. The only way to get to the bottom of it is by comparing other symtoms or error messages such as timeout or WIS error codes.

Check

- Are there other events recorded at the same time?

- Can you find correlating issues in the IIS log or BO logs?

- Do users report errors around the same time?

Thanks Caroline, I am not seeing major issue during normal use. When we run our performance testing then we get CORBA error message in RAS server and connection abandoned error message in IIS and not sure if its related. The error I mentioned keeps on coming even when we are not doing perfromance testing.

Thanks,

Confirmed. BO support looked into KB and told us this event can be ignored. It does not have any adverse effect.

Thanks,
