Hi dear

work center catogries are the work centers by their category (for example, production work center, maintenance work center).

The work center category determines which data can be maintained in the master record for the work center.

while pm01 ,pm02 are the control keys for the operations in any maintenance order

work center catogries distinguish between . labour, machine , maintenance, etc.

and for defining these u can follow

Plant Maintenance and Customer Service --> Maintenance Plans, Work Centers, Task Lists and PRTs --> Work Centers --> General Data -->

Dear All,

Thanks for your valuable reply.

Can you please explain,

How to create main work centre & work center.

How can we differentiate the two after creation.

What is the use of work center hierarchy.

Hi,

PM01,PM02 & PM03 these values are Control Keys not Work Center Categories.

If you want to define the Work Center Categories follow the IMG Path mentioned below,

Plant Maintenance and Customer Service --> Maintenance Plans, Work Centers, Task Lists and PRTs --> Work Centers --> General Data --> Define Work Center Types and Link to Task List Application

For plant maintenance ... work center category should always be 0005-Plant Maintenance ... unless u specifies a new one in customizing.
