Hi,

What is ur target system is that also windows?

There are lot of threads regarding this still!!

i hope it will be windows. or else it is OS migration!!!

1. Take an export of the system using SAPINST ( system copy source system) which will create a Export dump containing data files. ( down time of your prd system)

2. Copy the files to the test server

3. Install Database on your Test system

4. Start the sapinst and perform system copy target system option using the export you took.

5. this will bring your test system as same as your production system.

furthere you can refer homogeneous system copy under

service.sap.com/instguides>product>Inst guides>system copy for your system release.

Thanks and Regards,

Dear All,

I am facing problem in system copy. I want to knoe the way after restore i can move all the data and server data in one drive .

Now the error is resolve by changing the initTAT.sap the value tape to disk but now stuck in the drive for restore it is asking which is not there at os level.

BR0252E Function mkdir() failed for 'M:\oracle\TST\SAPDATA4\PRD33' at location

BrDirCreate-1

BR0253E errno 2: No such file or directory

BR0252E Function mkdir() failed for 'M:\oracle\TST\SAPDATA4\PRD32' at location

TO solve the above problem i have created ad network drive for this but once all the restore will be completed than how i can i move the data form network drive to on drvie.

Please suggest

Regards,

Kumar

Hi Kum....

First install sap on new server with same comfiguration and same platform.

Then take full offline/online backup of your PRO system, Restore the same into QAS server.

Recover the database and start sap on new TEST server.

For backup restore follow standard systemcopy guide.

Hi,

With the system copy, you will get the exact replica of your Production system. But before suggesting you the steps, please let us know the BASIS release you are using.

steps are already discussed here so many times i guess ?

in any way, you can refer system copy guides at SDN

what steps do you need then ?

make and configure exactly same filesystem over test server as there in prd

copy all the data on the target server

both of above steps by Unix Team, if you need details of how, let me know

restore the latest offline backup of prd onto the test server

do post processing steps as you do while any system copy or refresh and you are done !

but specifying the details of every step is possible here ? if you think, then let us know
