Handling existing tables and views via repository artifacting

Hello SAP Family,

We are working in native HANA (SPS 11) and are able to create new tables/views/flowgraphs etc as a repository artifact (design-time).

However, when we try to create a view as a repository artifact (.hdbview) and base the view on existing Catalog tables (not created as a repository artifact, meaning doesn't have a .hdbtable file), we are receiving parsing error while trying to activate the .hdbview script.

Therefore, we have the following questions:

1. First, is it possible to create a repository artifact (Project explorer view under Development perspective) and include catalog objects not created as a repository object?

2. If we need to modify an existing table/view/sequence etc, or in simple words, an existing Catalog object, which was not created as a repository artifact, how do we do that as a repository object? Is there any artifact with an .hdb<xxxx> which allows us to do so?
Or do we need to create procedures(.hdbprocedures) to do so?

Please assist.

Regards
Deb
