Hi,

1) What the steps to tranport from Development to Quality?

Goto SE01 (in Dev), release both the main and connected transports.

Goto STMS (in Quality) and press transport button. Enter client number and say OK.

2) Who is responsible for this tranport?

Generally the consultant making the customization.

3) What the steps to tranport from Quality to Production?

The transport comes to STMS queue automatically. Goto STMS (in Production) and press transport button. Enter client number and say OK.

4) Who is responsible for this tranport?

Generally the system administrator.

Before I close this thread, one simple clarification on TRANSPORTS:

What is specific responsibility of Functional Consultant?

What is the specific responsibility of BASIS Consultant?

How to avoid the conflict in the responsibility, because, there could be an instance of blame games, where, Functional would held Basis as responsible and vice-versa.

Please elaborate on this.

As a functional consultant, you have to create your own request and release it your job is over. Make sure that you have to maintain all required documentation as per your project guidelines, If you are trying to copy request with in development client you can use SCC1 T.code for that no need to release the request.

As a Basis Consultant, they need to import all request which is functional consultant mention the sequence.

SE01 SE09 SE10 is the tcodes we use for the transport requests

while doing any develoment in the DEV a Request is been created and u need to raise a request and shd relase this one to Quality from the above Tcodes

form STMS Tcode the basis people will relase into Quality

SCC1 is another tcode where we can tranport from one client to another client

You can create your transport request it can be created before you start working on the configs or you can create on the run i.e. while working.

In SE01,SE10 and once you are done with the whole configs you can release the transport and responsibility wholly on the Basis team for proper movement of transports across clients

--- What ever configuration you have done in Development all will store into one request. for Transport request from Development to Quality first thing is that you have to release. Go to SE09 and select your request then release first sub task then release main request.

--- Normally Basis people will transport request from system to system.

--- You have to maintian all the testing docuemnts of your request if any.

In addition to the above - if you are importing request in bulk, should be maintain in sequence. Other wise there will be conflic between transports.

First create the request , though SE01 you need to release the request.

Through STMS you need to transport that request dev to quality.

Releasing the request is the responsible is urs only. transporting basis person can do

other wise our responsible also

Here though STMs you can transport quality to production.

Consultant would do the configurations for which a transport request is created. This is done in Dev.

Then he does the testing. Once satisfied with the testing, a mail be sent to Basis people , asking them to transport the same to Qualty.

Basis people will transport the request and will confirm by mail.

Then a mai is sent to Business , to test the changes in Quality. If satisfied, business confirms and will request to move the transports to Production.

Once consultant gets the confirmation from Businees, he will perpare the transport request form , which will contain details like transport number, module, who has done testing etc.

Th transport request form is give for approval to project manager and business. Once approved, the same form is given to basis team along with a mail request.

Once transported , they will confirm back.
