I don't know if you could really "LOCK" the current view directly, but inside a template you can use the Worksheet dimension lock option to hardcode values for each dimension per that sheet.

    Suresh,

When you create a report/IS with EVDRE there is ablock which gets written directly over your GRID....Which has your APP name on top.

you can directly overwrite those values where ever it is pulling using EVCVW

Remember the order of priority for current view

    Cell,row, Col,page,workbook,System

    hope this helps...

While it is true you can hardcode the values directly in the PageKey, RowKey, and ColumnKey areas of an EVDRE, one of the benefits of using the Worksheet dimension lock option is that the Current View changes to show the values being used for each of the locked dimensions and visually disables the locked dimensions. This gives the end user more visibility of what is being used to retrieve/send the data in the template.

I had a performance issue when locking the dimensions through 'Action Pane -> Worksheet lock options': If you have two input schedules/reports open which is locked on different views and 'Expand on current view change' is enabled in the workbook options then an expansion will happen each time you switch from one input schedule/report to the other.

I ended up hard coding the dimensions in the PageKeyRange by replace the EVCVW lookups with the actual value.
