SAP Fiori FPM/WebDynpro Apps Activation

Dear All,

I am new to SAP Fiori, I have been assigned to activate SAP Fiori apps on our SAP S/4HANA 1511 FPS02. I have activated all assigned transactional apps, Our launchpad is running fine, but I am unable to activate FPM/WebDynpro applications.

I have followed this tutorial step by step, but I am unable to get my FPM/WebDynpro Apps.

Can someone guide me how to activate webdynpro Fiori apps.
I have also tested and activated the webdynpro components from SICF, still I am unable to activate the tile.

WEbDynpro app eg: Dynpro App

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Eliza

Hi Sarah

I agree with Saurabh - those Reference Lost errors indicate you are missing app descriptors. Once you have fixed that the remaining tile names will appear.

Also not every WDA or SAPGUI or even Fiori app is called directly from a tile. Check the target mappings to make sure that WDA app belongs to that group. Sometimes we only navigate to an app from another app.

Hi Eliza,

Please refer the link UITECH_OP1511_FPS02 and verify if you have carried out the steps mentioned in section 5.2.2.2 Replicate App Descriptors from Back-End System. It is mentioned here that you need to do this before you enter the SAP Fiori launchpad designer to create your own catalogs. Only after the replication you will see the apps in the Technical Catalogs view.

Thank you Saurabh,

I discussed the issue with my seniors, and they also feel that issue is related to configuration.
We have forwarded the issue to basis team.
Thanks again for your time.

Hi Eliza

Ok - I'm assuming that you have tested your Web Dynpro apps via SICF in your backend system already and it's just the launchpad connection that's not working?

Secondly ... what you want for 1511 is not the guide you have (which looks to be an old one from Simple Finance) but instead the UI Technology Guide for S/4HANA 1511 which you will find here http://help.sap.com/s4hana_op_1511_002

Typically what can go wrong here are:

* System alias mapping - so that the launchpad knows which backend system holds the WebDynpro app. You can see the system alias assigned to the tile in the Launchpad Designer. You can map the system alias to an RFC destination to your backend system in transaction LPD_CUST. However the current guide recommends using table /UI2/SYSALIASMAP which you can update with transaction SM30. If the system alias is not mapped correctly then you will probably be getting a HTTP 403 error (can't find that page)

* Missing Certificates - if you have HTTPS/SSL turned on then you MUST have proper SSL certificates signed by a Trusted Authority applied to your systems. You should be getting a Certificate error page when you launch the tile if this is the problem. Discuss it with your basis team. You can also tell them that self-signed certificates WILL NOT WORK

* Caching caching caching.... start by clearing your web browser cache, closing and reopening your web browser.

You may also need to schedule the cachebuster job /UI5/APP_INDEX_CALCULATE

https://sapui5.hana.ondemand.com/1.36.6/docs/guide/4cfe7eff3001447a9d4b0abeaba95166.html

Hope that helps

Hi Jocelyn,

Thanks for your response.
Yes, I have tested applications via sicf node, and its working correctly.

Actually I am stuck at point 4.1 in the guide at page 11.
After connecting to Launchpad Designer, I cannot find the Webdynpro tile against the given Business Catalog in Fiori Apps Library. i.e. SAP_MM_BC_IM_MANAGE.
Image attached for reference,

Now, I want to ask, why is my tile Material Inventory Values - Balance Summary is not visible against its Business catalog in my Launchpad Designer.

RFC has also been configured correctly, as my transactional apps are working correctly, only issue is with my FPM/WebDynpro apps.

Thanks,
Eliza.
