Hello community,
A machine has 4 processors of type "Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 8360 SE". How i have to set parallel_max_servers when is required to set "PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS #DB-CPU-Cores * 10"
I think 16 cores * 10 = parallel_max_servers= 160?
Is that correct?
Best regards
Lutz

Dear Lutz,
Your right Parallel_max_server set to 10xcpu_count.
You have 4 processor with Quad
PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS can be 0 to 3599 value.but greater value might be performance issue
and appropriate value give parallel execution whn u set parallel_automatic_tuning set to true

Hello Lutz,
yes this is correct.
But afaik parallel Query/DMLs/DDLs are rarely used in a standard SAP environment (excluding BW) so this parameter is not very significant.

Stefan
