Hi subba Rao,

For any help Look at the given url http://service.sap.com/sapgui-java

A) Check the supporting platform

Operating Systems

! AIX 5.2, 5.3 (32bit JVM)

! HP-UX 11.0, 11.11 (PA-RISC), 11.23 (PA-RISC), 11.31 (PA-RISC)

! Linux RedHat EL4 (32bit JVM)

! Linux RedHat EL5 (32bit JVM)

! Linux SuSE SLES 10 (32bit JVM)

! Linux openSuSE 10.1-10.2, SLED 10 (32bit JVM)

! Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5 (PowerPC / Intel)

! Solaris 8, 9, 10 (SPARC)

! Windows XP Home, Professional (32bit JVM)

! Windows Server 2003 (32bit JVM)

! Windows Vista (Business / Ultimate) (32bit JVM)

Java Virtual Machines

! JSE 5

! JSE 6 (on Linux, Solaris, Windows)

*B) Look at the following limitation*

Limitations compared to SAP GUI for Windows

! Office integration into SAP transactions is not available

! Some GUI components like the BEx explorer are not available

! Some controls in SAP GUI for Windows used for special purposes are

not available as JavaBean in SAP GUI for Java, for example

u2013 SAP SmartForms

u2013 advanced ABAP Editor Control

! Graphical screen painter is not available

! Translations of built-in texts like in logon window or options menu are

not available for all languages SAP supports

! To see if a transaction is supported for use with SAP GUI for Java check

Hi subba Rao

Edit the properties in service file Transaction_Configuration:

a. Choose System Administration - System Configuration - Service Configuration.

b. Choose Portal Catalog - Browse.

c. Navigate to portal service Transaction_Configuration and go to edit mode.

1)SAP GUI for Java only: MIME Type of Java Plug-in

Enter the MIME type according to the following convention: application/x-java-applet;version=<JRE Version>

2) SAP GUI for Java only: URL of SAP GUI for Java Installation Directory

Enter a fully-qualified URL that refers to the Java installation directory on the Web Server

Hi Everyone,

Thanks For Reply,

I enter proper information in Trasaction_Configuration eventhough it is showing the same message IT Requires SAP JAVA PLUGIN AND SAP GUI FOR JAVA To View.

I Am thinking that the problem with java version.

My Portal is Running HP-UX 11.0, 11.11 (PA-RISC) Java Version is 1.4.2.21

And i installed in clinet as 1.4.2.13.

SAP GUI For Java Supports Above Versions. Or it Requires the Higher Versions.

if i required higher versions ,is it problem to upgrade java version where portal is running.

Thanks

I think you need the correct Java version on the desktop, not the portal server...

The backend doesn't matter! The client runs on the desktop. That's the JRE version you need to install...

Do NOT try to upgrade your portal server to JRE5!!!!

Hi,

To see ur backend system we need to configure the SSO properly this will help us to see the Tcode details/ backend system object directly w/o its login;

In detial we have to tell what Tcode has to be accessed in system object;

So please check ur SSO configuraion.

The files need to be a web site. I suggest you put the files on a non SAP web server, such as IIS and asscess them from there...

Have you logged a call about this?

Hi Machieal,

We do n't have any other webservers.we have only SAP WAS J2EE Only.

Where is the problem, Is the problem with Transaction_Configuration Values?

Check in your Portal,Whether SAP GUI FOr Java is Configured or not.

Thanks

Yes, it is, on an IIS server! To put it on an AS Java you have to make a web site on the AS java. This can be done through building a WAR file, putting it into a EAR file and the deploying it to the AS Java.

Remember, this is not a formal support channel! People are under no obligation to help.

If you unpack the jar file into \usr\sap\<SID>\JCnn\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.engine.docs.examples\servlet_jsp\_default\root\examples, then the installation can be started by http://host:port/examples/demo.htm

This might not be a long term solution...

On my system I have:

System admin -> system config -> service config -> Applications -> com.sap.portal.appintegerator.sap -> services -> Transaction Configuration.

SAPGUI for Java URL: http://host:1080/SAPGUIJavaLatest, where host:1080 is an IIS server that hosts the install files as mentioned by the help page http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/b7/17c43b6312210fe10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
