Access SAP systems via the SAP Portal (EP) over the internet.

Hi,

Our Practice team are trying to do the setup so that they are able to access our SAP systems via the SAP Portal (EP) over the internet.

Our SAP systems (ECC 6.0) are behind the firewall while our EP server is in the DMZ zone published on the internet. Hence they are not able to access ECC through the Portal

They think Web Dispatchers with reverse proxies will do the trick but any help is appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Damanaidu J

    SAP Web Dispatchers would certainly help - one for the portal and another for each ABAP system you wish to access from the user's front end.

    Hi Damanaidu,

    [Configure SAP Webdispatcher as a reverse proxy|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2992] [original link is broken];

    Also, ensure you have a look at this [wiki|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/SystemObjectsettingswhenconfiguredwithReverse+Proxy], in case you have any issues with configuration.

    Good Luck!

    With Apache web server is very easy configure a reverse proxy.

    It only requires 3 lines in httpd.conf configuration file + ITS Service in ECC Activated + Activate Apache mod_rewrite

    Best Regards
