export and import .mte

hi experts,

is there any official help link pointing to the use of .mte files?

i am trying to avoid effort when i have to sync up two environments (dev and maintainance) using this .mte files but am unable to find right pointers which can give precise information on the export and import process using .mte files.

for instance, i observed following weird behaviour.

message mapping MM1 had two UDFs lets say U1 and U2.

when i exported MM1 from MNT system and imported in DEV, i could see 4 UDFs, i.e. 2 U1 and 2 U2, and had to delete one implementation for each.

based on this experience i am not comfortable on reliability of this option and hence would request pointers and also please share your experience on .mte files

thanks in advance.

Amol.

Hi Amol,

.mte file is not official given to any customer from SAP. So you will not get any help for this. Also this option is not supported in PI 7.1.

Please see Borodin reply in this blog:

thanks.

transports is a ruled out option for some obvious reasons but i just wanted to check if with this feature the efforts could be minimized or not. Seems its better to do manual effort for sync up than using an unsupported feature

in addition, if anyone has worked successfully on the .xim exports and imports in such a scenario? tip : go to your mapping and do a ctrlshft0 , please share your exp.

Amol

Hi,

mte files are not SAP supported so you always use them on

your own risk - meaning whatever bad happens it's your fault

use any of the standard import/export mechanisms like other guys

already mentioned

No.

Therefore its better if you use the transport mechanism (file or CMS) instead of thinking about mte based transports.

Hi Amol,

Can you try export and import of the the IR objects via the tpz files instead?
