difference between send data and send active work sheet button

I notice that in BPC 7.0 NW, when I click the send data, the validation is not triggered until then I click the send active work sheet button, this means that the send data button is not send the data to InfoCube for save,so what is the function of send data button?

When you click on "Send Data" in the Action Pane, you are not sending the data directly but opening a sub-menu where you can select what you want to send (send active workbook, active worksheet, ...)

If you perform a right-click and select "Send Data" (or use the button in the menu toolbar), the data will get send directly.
