Planning Area BAck up cube to save more than 1 request

Hi All,

We presently back up our planning areas every day in late evenings and delete the previous requests. Now since we had couple of issues where data is lost and wanted 2 days old data back but could not. So we want a process where we can have 5-6 days requests and after say 5 days the requests older than 5 days wil get deleted automatically.

Can any one advice how this can be done.

I presume you're loading the backup cube using process chains. There is a process type called 'Delete overlapping requests' which should help your cause. You can find this under the Tcode RSPC

We were not using using process chain, but we now created process chain and created custom routine to keep 7 days back up requests and drop down after 7 days. WE changed Version to date like 050409 and each day and when user takes Bex reports , he uses yesterday version.

Its working fine.
