SAP Enterprise Install Failure "FRF-00007

SAP Enterprise Install Failure "FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection"

During the Install of SAP Enterprise the installation fails with "FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection" when you are prompted to enter the DDIC password.

The solution that you need to stop the install then login SAP with the User SAP* with password - "06071992" then change the DDIC password to whatever you want.

Once done restart the install and continue to the stage where you need to install the DDIC password, enter the changed password and the installation will continue without errors.

The only OSS notes related to this was "Press the continue button" and the installation may continue, or restart the installation.

This may not point to a wrong DDIC password but also to the fact, that the system is not yet started.

Check - is it started and running?

I found the same error . The sap system is running , I can logon to client 000 with user sap* But I can't logon to 001 with user sap* and DDIC.

Problem was solved by reset password on client 001 and the rerun sap install again.

Hi,

now i'm in the same situation. Get following message: SAP Enterprise Install Failure "FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection".

What have i done:

- searching the whole SDN

- delete sap and start a fresh installation > same error at same place

- updated to lates kernel (SAPEXE_236-20001354) - and an older kernel (SAPEXE_221-20001354)

- try logon with SAP* > 000 & 001 - passwords: 06071992, pass, PASS and the forgiven masterpassword during the installation: ISBsave99 (SID ISB= IDES SEM BW)

- try also logon with DDIC > 000 & 001 - passwords: 19920706, masterpassword - after DDIC was locked, i've unlock with sqlplus and try other passwords

- delete SAP* from sapsr3.usr02 - Client 000 and 001, try logon with SAP* and PASS/pass

After repeated starting and stopping sap, i have no chance to logon on with SAP* no matter if client 000 or 001.

So, which steps i still can do? Any idea? However, a third installation would hang at the same step.

Why can i download a SAP System, which i can't cleanly install without doing manual steps?

Hope you got any idea. Thanks.

Regards.

Okay, i did it!

For all guys with the same problem:

After deleting SAP and starting a new installation, i stocked at the same point during the installation.

What the f* hell .. i deleted sap again .. this is done quite fast

The problem: if you can't logon with SAP* and 06071992 to client 000, stop here, there is no way out.

I have deleted SAP* on client 000 and 001, and try logon with SAP* / PASS, but .. no chance!

The installation is running not correctly till this step! Start a new one.

Now, i've downloaded a new SAPINST: SAPINST7011_1 and started a new installation, again

If the step is comming and you have to enter the ddic password, stop the installation,

download a newer kernel (SAPEXEDB_221/SAPEXE_221) (save the original) and replace the old.

Start SAP with MMC and logon to client 000 with SAP* and 06071992, ddic should work to.

Go to RZ10, import profiles of the active servers, edit instance profile and add:

login/no_automatic_user_sapstar : 0 (default value is 1)

save and activate the profile, restart SAP.

Now you have to delete SAP* from client 001.

delete from sapSR3.usr02 where BNAME='SAP*' and MANDT='001'; (you have to modify this maybe)

commit; (don't forget it)

Now, you can logon to client 001 with SAP* / PASS and change the ddic password.

Logon with DDIC and the initial password, and change it. Take this password for the SAP Inst GUI, it works

Good luck.

omg .. faster: IDADMIN / ides (all clients) - thumbs up! [/edit]
