Configurable connections

I have multiple databases (same schema) at different locations, I would like to run the same BO report against each location using the same Universe. How can I change the connection dynamically based on the location I wish to run the report against? Can I use the CMC to set which connection to use based on group or user or even category? Any response is greatly appreciated.

Reports (whether webi/deski or other) are saved with their connection information. To change this you can either resave the information and then rerun the report (this is no where near dynamic). Or you can create multiple universe/connections for each datasource and switch the universe/connection in webi to refresh against the other DB's

Hi,

You can use the Access Restrictions feature in Universe Designer. This will allow you to change the Universe connection based on the group the user belongs to. So if User A runs the report they will be connected to DB yyy and if User B runs the report they will be connected to DB zzz.

The option is in the designer Tools menu. You need to create a restriction and then apply it to a user or group.
