MB51

Hi experts,

Why MB51 cannot capture data if the selection criteria "customer" is specified? If not specified, the report works fine. Why?

I need to know the goods issue status against specific customer, specific material. Any other reports available?

MB51 does not capture data if the selection criteria "customer" is specified. Actually, the specific customer, say ABC, has material document (against sales order stock) in the system.

If the selection criteria "customer" (customer code ABC) is not specified, MB51 can capture that material document. But ABC does not show under "customer" column in the material document list.

ps. MTO has ever been switched to MTS in the system.

tell all fields you enter (even those you set a cross) in MB51 screen.

Are you using SD deliveries?

Hi, very sorry for the late reply.

Yes, I need to check SD deliveries, i.e. movement type 601 & 602. I try running the report through two ways. It shows different results.

1. MB51 only captures the material documents against posting dates in May as well as the customer code. In the material document list, "special stock" shows blank.

selection crietria I have entered in MB51:

"customer" = customer code, say ABC.

"movement type" = 601, 602

"data source" = database

"specification of database access for best runtime" = database determines optimum access

2. MB51 can capture the material documents against posting date on the specific date. But not all the customer codes can be indicated under "customer" column in the material document list, such as ABC.

selection crietria I have entered in MB51:

"movement type" = 601, 602

"posting date" = April 7

"data source" = database

"specification of database access for best runtime" = database determines optimum access

Question1:

For way 1, why NON-special stock posting can be captured if the selection criterion "customer" is selected? U know, this criterion is used for managing customer special stocks (press F1).

For way 1, why posting in April cannot be captured?

For way 2, why not all the customer codes can be captured?

your answer almost confuses me more than it helps.

I dont have such a field in my system:

"specification of database access for best runtime" = database determines optimum access

1) if you have not entered any date, and you only get may records, then you either dont have any records for april with the specifiied selection or they are already archived.

Reduce the selection to check if data exists.

first run it without entering a movement type, then remove the customer, then plant...

only this way you can get knowledge about the documents that fall under your selection criteria.

2)

For way 2, why not all the customer codes can be captured?

I dont understand what you want to say with that.

Using the multiple selection button next to customer number, you can almost enter as much numbers as you need.

Hi,

For the field "specification of database access for best runtime", is it due to the system version? I use ECC 6.0.

For point 1, I have tested. As I mention before, MB51 can capture the posting data well if customer is not specified. According to the explanation of the field "customer"(F1), my understanding is: If specifying customer, MB51 caputes posting data related to special stock, E stock, etc.

If my understanding is correct, why MB51 cannot capture the posting data against specific customer?

For point 2, what I mean is the column "customer" in the material document list (i.e. after executing MB51) only indicates some customer. U know, each material document corresponds to its outbound dlivery. Each delivery corresponds to its sales order. In other words, each material document should be traced back to the corresponding customer.

I am ECC6 too. I know this field, but havent seen if for years. (it should be responsible for the problems you have)

MB51 just searches in table MKPF and MSEG which are header and item of material document.

If you enter a customer number, then it brings back all movements that have a customer number.

Not each movement related to special stock E has a customer number, the movements usually have the sales order number . special stock E is customer order stock, not just customer stock.

Hi, again, many thx for your kind attention.

I agree with you. On the contratry, the system (ECC 6.0) on my side does not work as what our understanding.

I would like to provide an example. Pls help further.

Customer ABC has material document no. 123. And this material document's posting date is April 7 (E stock, movement type 601).

In MB51, materail documents against May only is captured if specifying ABC. As long as I specify posting date in April, such as April 7, no data lists.

If not specifying ABC, April posting data for ABC can be captured, such as no. 123. But ABC is not indicated under "customer" column (not the selection criterion) in the material document list.

For that field, my system provides three choices:database determines optimum access, start off with material number, start off with posting date. And it requires to select one of them. I used each of them to run MB51. Same result.

PS. Effective from May, MTO is switched to MTS. April data have not been archived in the system.

Hi Cathy ,

The report MB51works fine .

I tested a case intially by giving movement type 601,651,652.

Thereafter i took the customer , entered the same in MB51 and the results were fine .

Please check once again .

By default the customer column is not shown in the Layout . you need to add and then you find the customer number.

The data is checked in ECC 6.0.
