Hi,
We recently implemented one portal with EHP1. We find ajax framework page in the pcd.
I already go through some of the documents available in SDN.
Even i search help.sap.com release note for EHP1. But didnot found anything regarding this frame work page.
Please tell us, whether we can use this in produciton environment? Can we customize this one? For example i need to use a masthead iview which is on default framework(not ajax) in this new (ajax) framework.
Regards
Baby
Hi
The Ajax Framework Page (AFP) in Ehp1 is release for the Suite customers and therefore is not supported for customization. But the ability to customize it is there partly depends on what you want to do.
It will be in GA in Ehp2. there are no major gaps in the architecture between Ehp1 and Ehp2.
The AFP is giving wide abilities of customization. The architecture is distinguishing between the UI and the infrastructure exposed in JavaScript API (the LSAPI).
So it is possible to develop you own UI and use the JavaScript APIs as needed or customize the out of the box design through the theme editor ( The Ajax components are available in the SAP tradeshow theme).
Please not that there is a major gap between the classic (old) framework page and the Ajax Framework Page therefore using your old classic based masthead probably will not work properly.
SAP Note 1166135 is indeed under work currently.

Hi Oz,
Can you please elaborate what is not supported for customization ?
Is that it is just the colors and name of the work centers can't be personalized ?

Hello Baby,
as far as i know the Ajax Framework can not be adjusted. Especially the theme can not be modified to fit customer needs. Its a limitation which will be fixed with EHP2.

Markus

Hi Markus,
in EHP 1 SP3 you can modify the elements of the Ajax Framework in the theme editor.
And you can also download the different par files to modify coding, so I think it is no difference to the "normal" framework.
The only limitation in theme editor is (like for visual composer applications) that you only have a preview for the masthead and not for TopLevelNavigation etc., which is a little bit hard if you want to customize the whole theme... with "thousands" of parameters that can be changed.

Hi Markus,
I use a custom theme inside the Ajax Desktop and not tradeshow_plus.
And in my custom theme i have the option to modify the Ajax Framework elements, mentioned in this thread.
Is it necessary to use tradeshow_plus? In my case i have full functionality and at the moment I would not understand how a theme could influence ajax functionality, because the functionality is in my opinion only in the relevant par files...or am I wrong?

Hi,
The SAP Note 1166135 (as mentioned in read first) is not accessable to us. It is showing an error with message "The requested SAP Note is either in reworking or is released internally only".
