How to configure BEx iView - without sso ?

I found many notes and articles about how to configure SSO between Enterprise Portal / J2EE Portal and SAP BW Portal.

However we have EP & a BEx iView - but we don't want SSO.

Does anyone know where can i find a step-by-step guide or manual about how to configure

a non-sso connection between EP and BW portal using BEx iView ?

    Hello Adi,

what do you like to achieve? You don't have to use SSO between the portal and BI. In consequence of this the user has to authenticate every time he likes to connect to BI from portal side. Is it correct that this is the scenario you'd like to configure?

Thank you so much for your reply and information !

Eventualy we will use SSO to BI Backend and manage reoprts permissions for each user in the backend system - exactly like you wrote.

However - it takes time to develop and to map the permissions.

I'm trying to establish another course of action:

Using simple URL iView - this way the iView will display the login screen to BEx.

But of course even with this we have a problem:

Beacuse the BEx & EP are in the same domain - the BEx is trying to SSO the user anyway... (Due to the session cookie of portal that has the same domain as the BEx portal...).

If we use simple URL iView for BEx in an EP from a different domain - it works great....

      Anyway - thx alot !
