Multiple Checks in one Cycle

Our users are asking if this functionality is available. I found SAP Note 615860

from 2003 where it was in a pilot stage. It doesn't look like the functionality was ever rolled out. Does anyone know if it is still being worked on and, if so, when we might see it?
