Recently a customer has upgraded PO 7.5 to last SP and we have seen a new features in Alerts:

I have done a fast search around SAP PO Documentation but doesn't seen anything. What exactly do:

  • User-Defined Search Data in Alert
  • Alert Rule Type

I suppose that Alert Rule Type with Blocked messages send an alert when the messages queue in error, or scheduled for the messages that are under the supervision of alert rule.

But if anyone can bring me some light to both points will be appreciate

Cheers!

Hi Xavier,

The following changes were done with release 7.50 SPS06:

  • Alerting for stuck/hanging messages. The Alert Rules now have a type, which is one of "Error Alert", "Blocked Message Alert" or "Both". Alerts for "Blocked Messages" trigger an Alert if a PI message is not in final status and wasn't updated anymore for a certain time. The configuration is done in the Alert Rule. The Alert Rule configuration now also has a new parameter to configure the time after an Alert is generated for blocked messages. The time is configured in "minutes" and minimum time is 1 minute.
  • Suppress multiple Alerts from one Alert Rule for a specific time. This can be used to protect against too many Alerts. The time in minutes can be configured in the Alert Rule configuration in the Integration Directory. Use the value 0 to disable the suppress functionality.
  • Change the way how Alert Rules for Integrated Configuration objects are internally processed to better suit the Alerts to the scenario definition. Before, the Alerts Rules might create Alerts for other scenarios as well.
  • Some smaller improvements in the Integration Directory and PIMON user interfaces for Alert Rule configuration.

The following changes were done with release 7.50 SP07:

  • Make the Alert Rule relevant for "All Error Codes" or "Only Specific Error Codes" in the Integration Directory configuration.

The following changes were done with release 7.50 SP08:

  • Support wildcards (*) in the Alert Rule definition for Business Component, Party and Interface Name. The following changes were done with release 7.50 SPS12:
    • Alert Rules can check values of User Defined Search (UDS) attributes. It's possible to trigger Alerts only in case the message payload contains certain data. UDS extractors and filters to extract the payload data need to be configured additionally for the message scenario to support this new Alert option.
