Hi All,

Recently we upgraded out BI Platform from 4.2 SP3 to 4.2 SP5. Post this also upgraded Lumira 1.31 to Lumira 2.1.

Somehow post this SAP ERP 6 (JCO) Driver are not accessible in IDT and all connection with SAP ERP 6 driver is causing an error.

We also tried to modify existing BI Platform base installation and selected SAP ERP driver but it is not working.

Is there any way to install these drivers manually?

Regards,

Swapnil K

Accessibility of drivers in IDT usually has nothing to do with platform/lumira upgrades, unless IDT is on the same machine as server components (which is not recommended).

Hi Denis,

#Accessibility of drivers in IDT usually has nothing to do with platform/ lumira upgrades

I am creating/modifying connections BO Repository Resources area which represents BO Platform. Prior to upgrade SAP ERP 6 JCO drivers were available and all respected connections were working.

Post upgrade if I tried to create a new connection in IDT(sitting on my Local Machine) in the Repository Resources area it is missing SAP ERP 6 drivers. So we are suspecting upgrade caused this issue.

Did you restart the connection servers after installing the missing driver? (Server Side)

did you also install it on the client side (where IDT was installed)?

....

So, if the answer is yes and still does not work, here are steps to check if already installed or not, and how to install manually.

..

first, Check if the following files and directories exist:

-directory .....\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\jco and has files jco.sbo, jco.prm, jco.rss

-file ....\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\setup\jco.setup

-file ....\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\drivers\java\dbd_jco.jar

...

second, If not, install it as follows:

1. in the original installation directory goto:

....\DATA_UNITS\BusinessObjectsClient\dunit\connectivity.connectionserver.drivers.saperp.jco-4.0-core-nu (for client)

....\DATA_UNITS\BusinessObjectsServer_win\dunit\connectivity.connectionserver.drivers.saperp.jco-4.0-core-nu (for server)

2. Right-click on the file "content.msi" and install

3. After installation, follow the check step

4. Restart the connection servers (on the server side).

..

and if you prefer to copy the file manually (instead of step 2 - install):

1. Extract the file "content.cab"

2. Open the file "assemblylist.xml" and you will see where the file should be copied and which destination name.

(ex.: copy file javadbd_jco.jar ---> dbd_jco.jar to the directory ..../connectionServer/drivers/java

<sourcedir id="D:/a42sr32/win32_x86/release/bin/Connectivity/dataAccess/connectionServer/drivers/java">
  <file size="206126" installdir="[INSTALLDIR]SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0/dataAccess/connectionServer/drivers/java" name="dbd_jco.jar"/>
 </sourcedir>

.

then step 3 and 4 as before.

..

I hope that will help you

Hi Ayman,

Did check files and directories mentioned by you, all required files and directories were present.

But it did direct me to an SAP Note

<em>2056237 - BI 4.x IDT: Not able to see the list of relational databases in repository resources when creating a relational connection</em>

it mentioned resolution as

Ensure that the ConnectionServer, ConnectionServer32 and Adaptive Processing Server (that holds Adaptive Connectivity Service) are Running and Enabled.

When I checked 'Adaptive Connectivity Service' was not running so created a new server for that and could see all respective drivers now including SAP ERP 6 JCO Driver.

Thanks a lot for your help.
