Error XR026 during contact replication from CRM to ECC

Hello experts,

I have a problem during contact replication from CRM to ECC : i created a contact person using LSMW message type BUPAFS_FS_CREATE_FRM_DATA2 and then created a relationship BUR001 with a business partner using LSMW message type CRMXIF_PARTNER_REL_SAVE_M. However on SMW01 when i check the relationship replication (Bdoc BUPA_REL) i find the error XR 026 saying that "Number Assignment for Contact Person Failed (Business Partner &1)".

Could you please help me with that?

Hi Marouane,

Please make sure in tcode VPN1 of ECC system, the contact person number range can only be set as "internal".

Why only internal number range can be used for contact person:

In CRM you can have Contact Person CP assigned to more than one accounts AC1, AC2, etc. In ERP this is not possible. You need to have more than one Contacts (i.e. more than one instance of the same contact with same data) assigned to the different Customers AC1, AC2, etc. Due to the difference in two data models we can not choose to have the same number for contact in R/3 as in CRM. Contact CP in CRM can correspond to more than one Contacts CP1, CP2, etc in ERP and hence same numbers for a contact are not possible across CRM and R/3.

Then please run the replication again.
