we need to migrate our running SAP IQ (acting as SAP BW NLS) from RH6 to SLES.

Is it possible to just stop IQ on old host , pack all files and move to new one, unpack and start ?

Or do we have dependencies to hostname, LINUX OS etc.

Regards, Guido

There are two kinds of linux for IQ.
So if Suse and Redhat is same kinds of chip(processor), you can migrate.

1) Linux on Power 64BIT
2) Linux on X86_64BIT

If IQ is running as simplex mode, host name is not considered when migration project.
But IQ is running as multiplex mode, you need to change the system info using "alter multiplex" command.

And Here are some other considerations.

1) a new license is required (new license file if you're using unserved license)
2) if your have defined a dedicated IP in the cfg - file, this must be changed
