Hi all,
I want to create a solution to track equipments in SAP.
I have certain containers which will be sent from one region to another, and I want to track the status of it. I also would like to perform preventive maintenance on them. Which is the best possible solution to do it?
I am thinking to create Equipment as PRT and proceed. Will this help me?

Why did you suggest using PRT equipment??
We did a similar project years ago for a container company and the design was to use serialised equipmentfor each container to allow tracking of the unit through the PM and MM processes.
We then used various user-statuses on the equipment to store the current state.
The equipment were never installed in a functional location and we used the fields in the equipment master to record the current location (plant)

Hello Sandeep,
As per your commitment you are saying the containers you are sending from one region to another..
then how will you create the equipment / Functional location and assigned to maintenance plant..
if you don't have assigned equipment / Functional location and maintenance plant then how will you do the preventive maintenance
so please clarify the above concerns
