Hi Experts,

My requirement is to write a chacteristic relationship exit class to derive time characteristic(eg: 2017.01) from 0FISCPR(2017001) on save data from input enabled query .

Please help me if there is any logic for this requirement.

Thanks,

Siva

Hi,

the question is not clear: what is the target characteristic, 0CALMONTH?

Characteristic relationship are independent of queries or planning functions, the relations are modeled on basis planning InfoProvider. Derivation is called when the data are send to the planning buffer and not 'on save'.

The existing time relations are documented here:

https://help.sap.com/viewer/0ecf5244825c4742a7b062a89d11c2ac/7.5.12/en-US/4cad8258d5943b9de10000000a...

If you what to have a derivation from 0FISCPER to 0CALMONTH you have to read the fiscal year variant, since 0FISCPER is compound to 0FISCVARNT. The fiscal year variant contains a definition of the posting periods and how these periods are related the calendar year, month and day, cf. transaction GVAR. It is possible that a posting period (0FISCPER) is contained in two calendar months so you have to define the calendar year month to be 'derived'. The logic has to come from the 'requirement'.

Gregor

Hello Siva,

I recommend posting this to SAP BW group. I think that team has better expertise regarding this topic.
