You could use a PDF rendering tool like Seal to stamp or watermark a document with a specific image if necessary. That's the only way I could think of doing it, I think any other method would be very difficult programmatically.

Hi Mangesh,

Have gone through all this. My suggestion would be to go for Cideon. They have the perfect solution for this. In ECL you will not find it.

For watermarking also there are plenty of other third party vendors available in market, but they might not be having the Viewer facility within SAP.

Hope this will take you towards your solution.

In ECL Viewer or EAI viewer when you open the document - PDF only /Tiff file's, choose Redlining option.

It will ask for the layer Name .

give as "user name" and choose option "STAMP"

Enter your name and automatically the layer 1 will get saved with date and time.

Now save the DIR.

Based on layer you can get the Print option with wich the comments wil ge derived as a Print.

Its simple.

Redlining option will work only in PDF. So you need to convert the document thru Convertor or just cpoy as and use thru PDF convertor and attach it again in PDF format.

Perform the steps that I have maintained.

We have tried and its working fine.

Hi Robo

OK.Thats good. But that increases my one step of converting it from PDF to other formats.

What is your comment on this.Anyone would like to be comfortable without that step of converting pdf file to other formats.

Hi Robo

As a user I would not accept this solution doing multiple steps for a single steps.I would prefer third party systems such a SEAL as said by Athol.which will reduce my work.

Thats my opinion from a user perspective.

Thanks sir for your reply.

My solution may look one step more to your usual procedure . Accepted.

Please enquire the price of SEAL Software and Hope your company is affordable for that .

All the best.

If you use Seal to render the documents to PDF with a signature, ensure that you set the default view application to PDF so it hides the non-PDF documents when people view the DIR. This will ensure that people only view the document with the signature on it.

Hi Murali.S

I agree that compared Seal your solution is quiet Cheaper Option. But Whenever Water marks and Signature are printed manual intervention are removed and other facilities are provided by third party softwares which have good value to Business users in a company ( Large Design Companys, Construction Comapnys.)So for them Functionalities are important and not value.

But I take notice of your Point and agree to it.I appriecitate your reaponse and zeal that you have shown .Thanks once again Buddy.
