Regards
Ashish K
1. check your Database it is started or not
2. before starting your MMC once check ur usr/sap/<sid>/DVEBMGS00/work dir, in that disp_dir, disp_w0
by checking these 2 files u can get an idea why ur Message server is not starting.

Hi
First you need to start the DB always then SAP. Hope you are following the same.
Check for log files in work dir. Stop SAP & restart it again. Check which log file it is updating. Paste the error message which is mentioned in the log files (dev_disp, dev_ms,dev_W* log file)
Thanks,
Sushil

Hi,
Run sapstartsrv.exe
Check whether its running or not.
Sometime if some files (.dll)are missing then also SAPmmc will not start

Did you check windows event viewer and dev_disp trace? Also check your network connectivity.
