depreciation calculation start date in case of Legacy assets?

Hi Experts,

what is the depreciation calculation start date in case of legacy assets...i m uploading the balances of 31-mar-09, so will it be 01-apr-09 or the date as per the legacy records

Hi,

the depreciation start date of legacy assets should be the depreciation start date from the legacy system. Thus you should have this info contained in your legacy date file for the upload.

thanks for the reply

The concerned field name is AFABG(Depreciation Calculation start date) and i m using it to upload the balances through LSMW.

say for example the asset is being depreciated from 01-apr-08 as per the legacy records and i am uploading it to SAP on 31-mar-09. so, do i give the value as 01-apr-08 or 01-apr-09?

You should use the original depreciation start date.

of 31-Mar-09 the depreciation start on 01-April 2009. Your depreciation upload values should be the

values should be up to 31-Mar-09.

Make a test asset with as91 and you can test it
