Hi,
This is regarding rounding off depreciation . My client has a requirement which is as follows :
-
If the depreciation amount comes to 110.40 the client wants that the final system calculated depreciation be 110 .
-
If the depreciation amount comes to 110.60 the client wants that the final system calculated depreciation be 111
So its like they are keeping a limit at 50 paise above and below 50p for the roundng off.
In IMG there are three ways..the rounding up ,rounding down and the arithmetic average.
Is there any other way where we can set a limit for this 50p for the rounding off..
Regards,
arvind
Hello,
Arthimetic Rounding suits your requirment.
path:
IMG ==> Valuation ==> Amount Specifications (Company code/Depreciation Area) ==> Specify Rounding of Net Book Value and/or Depreciation
Field help on Arthimetic Rounding:
Arithmetic Rounding
Using this indicator you specify that rounding should take place according to the rule: tenths up to and including 4 are rounded downward to the next whole number, starting with 5 they are rounded upward to the next whole number.
This refers to the decimal places of a currency.
Example: 3.49 is rounded to 3
3.50 is rounded to 4

Ravi

Hi,
what you describe is "commercial rounding", and this is what you can set up for depreciation value in the rounding rules. Check it out.

This is not standard possible,
You can create your own depreciation method (user exit) to get this rounding:
See: Financial Accounting / Asset Accounting / Depreciation / Valuation Methods / Enhancements
The total of the differences in a fiscal year for all your assets is so low that this looks for me a strange requirement, even to spent time on it.
