Storage location extenstion

Is it possible that the storage location is automatically extended as soon as we create the material code.

Else, is it possible that will creating stock transfer order using me27. system should not allow users to create the STO unless the storage location data for the receiving plant is maintained.

i.e., if the material is moving from Plant 1 (ST01) to Plant 2 (ST08), then should not allow STO creation unless the material is extended to ST08 in Plant 2.

Kindly revert with suggestions

Hi

For STO extending the material from one plant to other plant is mandatory.

if u activate the SPRO- SAP IMG- Material managemnet - Inventory management and physical inventory - Goods receipt - Create storage location automatically.

So no need toextend it to storage location while doing GR

The above two should not be activated. So that it will not allow the material to receive / issue to particular storage location.

Hi,

For STOS the material should be in both plants.

But for storarage location creation is possible to create automatically against mov type.

plz check t.code :OMB3 , tick mark against plant and also give mov type.

hi,

there is no automatic extension of materials to storage location.

For mass uplaod use MM17 or prepare LSMW with recording method for MM01 t-code.

For STO, the material shoud be maintained at both supplying plant and receiving plant and storage locations are also maintained respectively. It is a pre requisite for STO

You Can Create STO with Me27 or Me21n but U have to extend material for receving plant or depot.This mandotory.

you extend stor. loc. with MMSC Tcode.
