CR XI Standard connectivity to Adaptive 9.0

Using crystal reports XI Standard Edition and attempting a connection to an adaptive server 9.0 database I get the message "Not implemented. cannot connect to the datasourse. You must upgrade to professional edition."

Vendor PDSI informs me that any version of crystal reports should connect to this database.
