upgrade only front end

Hi

we are planning to do upgrade to 2004s

my question is can i just use 2004s tools to upgrade only queries workbooks web templates etc

if i dont want to do upgrade of backend systems will it make any difference?

can we just upgrade front end tools and front end reports such as queries, workbooks webtemplates only

backend upgrade can be done later on...........

you can migrate your queries and workbooks prior to migrating your backend which I assume is conversion of update rules etc...

Just make sure that you have the latest SP of the frontend SAPGUI before proceeding... assuming that you have done the technical upgrade to NW2004s already...

what does the technical upgrade means

yes i dont want to upgrade update rules, infoobjects etc right now

just interested in upgrading queries workbooks etc/.

technical upgrade is upgradng the netweaver stack alone... like upgrading your OS... but then you do not migrate any BI objects after a technical upgrade. Technical upgrade is more like a BASIS activity.
