Batch Determination in Sales Order

Dear Experts,

My client wants Batch determination to happen at "Sales Order" level as per below-

1. To exclude Expired batch

2. To Exclude based on remaining shelf days of Batch. (Please note- Remaining shelf life field in material master is not in use by client, so thinking to have a Z table which will contain remianing shelf life , sales org and material) not sure if it is right way.

After going through several available threads , and completing the basic configuration now determinantion is taking place, But what more needs to be done to meet both of above specific requirement .

Most of the threads available is for batch determination is at "delivery" level but could not get much info at sales order level.
