Freezing Material MAster

Hi! All

I'm new to MM. Kindly guide me friends

While creating the material the Sales view will be created by sales person; Account view will be created by Finance person; MRP will be created by Production person. as there is lack of communication between these persons the material master updating is not proper how to stabilize it.

is the worklow is the one and only way ? to freeze it out. kindly guide me.
