java proxy between AS 7.0 and PI7.1

Hi all,

in my scenario I have a J2EE AS NW7.0 and a PI 7.1.

The AS7.0 should be enabled to communicate towards PI through java proxy and a locally installed non-central Adapter Engine.

The protocol should be XI 3.0.

Now what I would like to know:

- is the non-central Adapter Engine the same as the PI Adapter Engine or a down-scaled one?

- can there be any issues with regard to communication between different versions (NW7.0 vs PI7.1)?

Thanks for any help

Vincenzo

I gave up this path because of changed customer requirements.

Thanks, regards

Hi,

Check this [guide|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/03fd85cc-0201-0010-8ca4-a32a119a582d].

It might have answers to some of your questions.

Hi, thanks for your helpful reply,

What I actually need is simply java proxies for XI 3.0 protocol on my AS.

The AS would be communicating just towards PI71, no other backends.

Do you think I need to go through all this configs also for this simple purpose?

The document seems 04-based, does it apply also to 70/71?

Thanks a lot

Vincenzo

You could have issues with PI 7.1 and a non-central adapter engine based on 7.0. This is scenario is not recommended.

You could use webservice and webservice clients running on AS 7.0 instead.
