Dear gurus,

I have changed some paremeters in the profile. after restart sap i am getting abap dumps. (READ_SWITCHSTATES_FAILED). Problem is that i don't have the backup also. Also it is not allowing to change the partameter through RZ10. (unknown error calling profile editor).

Please guide me how to change the parameter.

Hi,

Changing this parameter should not start dumps.

Go to the path i mentioned in the previous message.

There will be file for instance profile. Its name would be like <SID>_DVEBMGS00_<hostname>.

Open this and edit the parameter.

You will find the parameter here in this file. you can change it as a normal text file.

You have to restart the server to make the changes to be effective

But you should analyze the error listed in the dumps too?

what it says?

login to OS level using <sid>adm and then go to directory

usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profiles

and then open default.pfl and change the values back to original, save the profile and restart SAP

Also if you have have made changes in Instance profile then you will have to perfrom this with Instance profile at OS level, the instance profile is like Instance*

Hi,

Which parameter did you change?

You can change it back in the profile files under /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile on the OS level

Then restart th server again
