Info record price

Can anybody clarify how info-record price gets updated?

What will be the price as per info-record in the following cases

1) Material is created newly and vendor is also created newly on 01-01-2009. There is no info-record created with ME11

1st po price PO Dated 01-01-2009 - 1,000 usd

2nd PO price PO dated 02-01-2009 - 1,200 usd

3rd PO price PO dated 03-03-2009 - 1,300 usd

4th contract (qty) on same vendor dated 04-04-2009 usd

map as on 01-01-2009 - 800 usd

2) Info record is created for material-vendor combination on 01-01-2009 with price as 700 usd

1st po price PO Dated 01-01-2009 - 1,000 usd

2nd PO price PO dated 02-01-2009 - 1,200 usd

3rd PO price PO dated 03-03-2009 - 1,300 usd

4th contract (qty) on same vendor dated 04-04-2009 usd

map as on 01-01-2009 - 800 usd

Hi,

If Inforecord already exists then conditions in inforecord will be updated by quotation only. If inforecord doesn't exists, then condition in inforecod will be updated by both quotaion and contract.

So in your first case, inforecord condition will be updated by price mentioned in contract.

In your second case, inforecod price will remain as 700usd only.

PO price will never update the inforecord condition, only it will update inforecord price history.

For the first case if Info update is active in the PO it will consider the 3rd PO price in Info record.

Inforecord will not consider the Contract Price.

In 2nd case also the same 3rd PO price only will be the recent price.

I investigated this issue few weeks ago, and per my understand:

1) Material is created newly and vendor is also created newly on 01-01-2009. There is no info-record created with ME11

3rd PO price PO dated 03-03-2009 - 1,300 usd

1- In this scenario info record was been created automatically upon the creation of the first PO, then it was been updated each you create a new PO. This communication between PO and info Record is controlled through the field "Info Updat" in the PO, Header Data---> Details, this field must be set as "B".

2- The creation or change of contract doesn't update info record if it exists. Please see OSS note 569885

If an info record already exists, upon creation or change of
a contract, neither price nor conditions are updated in the info
record.

In the same OSS you find all details concerning the updating of info record

2) Info record is created for material-vendor combination on 01-01-2009 with price as 700 usd

1st po price PO Dated 01-01-2009 - 1,000 usd
2nd PO price PO dated 02-01-2009 - 1,200 usd
3rd PO price PO dated 03-03-2009 - 1,300 usd
4th contract (qty) on same vendor dated 04-04-2009 usd

If info record already exists, it can be update through PO creation if the field "Info Update" in Header data--> details of PO is set to B or A.

Howerver it can't be update through contract, please to see OSS note 569885

Hi,

Unless you do not specify the price (if there exists one)in info record , the last purchasing document will get stored in inforecord provided of you update the info by checking the box in PO.

If a info record is freshly created based upon your combination either plant or purchase organisation , if you do not want a update with reference to your PO./document do not check the info indicator so that you can always create a document with info record price.

In the first case as there is no info record you can alwaqys have a new price in the PO( 4 Differrant prices)

in the second case you can always update the price freshly.as a last option you create a PO with contract and if you update the info record, then your new price will be this only.

Info price will get update from PO is the 'Info Update' tick is activated in the PO. In your case if this is activated then the latest info record price will be as per the PO no 3. As you are mentioning that 4th is contract, for this contract you create PO with ref to contract info price will not get update.
