hi,

what are the sample daily objects/tasks that will be received by a MDM consultant daily on a support projects?

Hi,

When it comes to a Support Project, you will be basically working on 2 aspects.

1. Requests pertaining to current design which are not working fine or are creating problems - This basically includes Data import issues during the Automatic Importing using MDIS. Sometimes, the import files are not processed by the MDIS and therefor get stuck in the Ready folder or else an exception is raised. You will have to understand the possible cause of error and resolve the ticket.

The tickets will be raised in by the business users and will be resolved by the MDM consultants. Apart from the import issue, similar problems could be faced during syndication, such as IDOC posting can fail. Workflow Not getting launched, records showing stuck in Workflows etc. Also, there might be few changes in the Format of the data such as Numeric thousand separator settings, etc. Since this woudl be Prod environment, data import and export issues are the major ones.

2. Change requests which will be identified as an improvent for the next release - You would have to start developing the change requests in DEV and understand the business user requirements. These can be like creating Validations, Changing field names, Creating extra fields, Data import into those fields, assignment, additional workflows etc. This would be major chunk of work and would be dependent on the current design. Then these developments would be tested by the users and moved to the Prod for the next release.
