Quarantine stock

Dear Experts,

We have received 1000 nos of a particular components from a Vendor and the management decided to to use only 500 nos of those components which are accepted during quality inspection and remaining 500 nos ( inferior quality but not rejected ) to be set aside in quarantine ( in future it may be used for some local order ) . How to map this scenarion in SAP.

1) Please maintain the post to inspection stock either in the config or in the material master for getting the stock posting tab in the UD

2) The process that you have mentioned seems fine. But are you posting the stock only after you have decided whether the stock is ok or not ok.

my suggestion would be move the doubtful stock to block stock. Make a copy of inspection type 08 as like Z08. Do the stock transfer from block to quality with Z08 inspection type. This will help you analysing how many quanretined stocks where there and how was it posted.

Once the decision ' A ' taken the stock is posted to un-restricted and if ' R ' it is posted to blocked .

I am wondering if someone can assist with instruction for blocked stock? I have material that has already been received into inventory, which needs to be moved to blocked / quarantine, so it is not included when viewing stock on hand. Is it necessary to create a new location for blocked stock? What is the transaction in ECC to move the stock? Please help. Many thanks.

Hello

You mean you are not getting stock posting tab in 08 inspection lot,

if so go to SPRO > QM> Quality inspection> Inspection Lot Creation> Define Default Values for Inspection Type> 08 > maintain tick in post to inspection stock

you can do this in the material master also

In 01 type inspection lots we are not getting those posting tabs. We will try to convive the user with the above procedure. Let me explain the procedure recommended by one of our expert in the forum.

A UD code ' Q' for quarantine with valuation ' Rejected ' created , and during UD this code ' Q ' will be selected and there will be no stock posting. This is to represent that the material is in Quaratine without any firm decision ' A' or ' R ' . Once accepted or rejected the UD code Q will be changed to 'A' or ' R' and the material will be posted to relevant stocks.

I completely agree with the solution given by the Gajesh, now about your problem If you are not getting stock posting tab in 01 Inspection type also activate it by the path suggested by Gajesh.

Tell me one more thing are you creating manual inspection lot for Goods Receipt

Hello

A simple solution is move the material to block. Whenever you need this material move back to quality with 08 inspection so that you can recheck and then issue to the orders
