IDOC 2 file

HI,

I am trying to send a IDOC to file through XI. Here are my questions.

1. If i send IDOC to XI what would be the status of the IDOC on the ECC?

2. If I see IDOC status 03, does it mean IDOC reached to XI system?

3. I am expecting one status once IDOC reaches XI, If it failes in XI I want to get a different status,

If it reached FTP I want to get a different status, if there is a connectivity issue I want to get a different status. I dont want to us BPM. Is it possibe?

4. I am went through IDOC Ack doc which talks about ECC to XI to ECC(IDOC 2 IDOC). Is there any doc on IDOC to File on acknoledgements?

Monika.

    1. If i send IDOC to XI what would be the status of the IDOC on the ECC?

if it successful it should be 03 or 12

    2. If I see IDOC status 03, does it mean IDOC reached to XI system?

May or may not for this chk SM58 if there is any error during posting of idoc to any external system

    3. I am expecting one status once IDOC reaches XI, If it failes in XI I want to get a different status,

If it reached FTP I want to get a different status, if there is a connectivity issue I want to get a different status. I dont want to us BPM. Is it possibe?

This is not possible this can be made ony if target system is ECC by scheduling program for status idocs (ALEAUD01)

    4. I am went through IDOC Ack doc which talks about ECC to XI to ECC(IDOC 2 IDOC). Is there any doc on IDOC to File on acknoledgements?

search SDN lot of stuff avaialble on same

That is not possible by default. The sender system is aware of it only till the transportation layer. If it leave SM58 from the source system, it is done with it. After that if would not know anything about it if it fails in XI.

May be you need send back something to sender system based on your XI error.

Receiver adapters that run on the Adapter Engine support system acknowledgments if they are requested by the sender.

Acknowledgments are triggered when a message is successfully processed by the adapter or if an error occurs while it is being processed.

Receiver adapters do not support application acknowledgments

Acknowledgment IDocs are always converted to XI acknowledgments.

This function enables you to send acknowledgment IDocs (ALEAUD) as XI request messages for a sender port and client.
