We cannot get the BI support tool to connect to a WebSphere JMX console via the GUI. The direct JAVA console works fine. The WAS generic arguments are set to:
-Djavax.management.builder.initial=
-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote
-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false
-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false
-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=9000
When you connect to try and validate JMX configuration in BI Support Tool GUI you get: "JMX Vaidation Error
JMX configuration validation failed for this node"
If you run the JAVA console using either FQDN: 9000, or localhost:9000, the JMX metrics dashboard comes up fine. Tried different ports, and made sure netstat -an |grep 9000 returns fine. No dup ports.
Hi Angel,
Currently, only Tomcat is supported for the Web Application Server analysis. We do have Websphere support on our roadmap for a future version however at this time I can't say exactly when this will be implemented.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards
Toby

We were told by SAP Tech Support that WebSphere is currently not supported but is planned to be in a future release.

Is there a firewall between BIPST and Websphere ?
