Different start dates for warranty counters?

Dear Experts,

Can we have different start dates for warranty counters?In our case warranty starts either from the date of purchase or date of commissioning.As in master warranty system takes up only the start date assigned.I have created two warranty counters and assigned it to a master warranty.But how can i take different start dates for the warranty counters?
