Holiday Calendars is used in Time and Payroll. It is Holiday Calender which is used in defining Work Schedules Rules for different regions.

In simple, we can say... it is defined for Employees.

Factory Calendar in turn in used in Shift Planning concept, T&E Mng, in defining/planning for Units.

In simple, we can say... it is defined at Unit(Area) Level.

Eg: Employee can be on holiday based on holiday calendar assigned to his area. But Factory may be running/open on the same day.

Dear Sadhar,

Does the Factory Calendar created by us have any impact in SD and MM Modules like can they many transactions on non working days? Here the System should restrict them from making any transactions on a non working day. what additional settings should i do for this scenario.

Eg: as we assign holiday calendars/factory calendars in our modules, Even SD & MM consultants create and use Factory Calendars.

If they use the same Factory Calendar created by HR, then you can meet your requirements.''

Dear Sadhar,

They are using the same calendar created by us. Even then they are able to make transactions on a non working day. Even the system is not throwing any warning message saying that it is a non working day.

Dear Shankar,

I think this you need to check with SD & MM Consultants. There would be config tables, where conditions could be given whether transaction can be perfomed on Non-Working days.

At Calendar level, only a day is a working or non-working is defined.

Please check with them.
