Same report, different table?

In Crystal, is there a way that I can simply "switch" underlying databases that have the same fields without losing all my fields on the report?

Stated another way, can I drop tableA from my report and add tableB that has the same fields without losing all my fields on the report that tie to tableA and subsequently to tableB?

Thanks in advance,

Yes, there is.

Follow these steps:

Go to Database Tab -> Set DataSource Location -> The top of screen is your current datasource location switch with tables from the new datasource location in the bottom screen -> click update to all matching tables.

I hope this helps.

Hello all,

I had the same issue and this worked for me, but can I change the name to the new table? It still appears with the old table's name. I checked the properties and the new table is there, but I'd like to see the new table's name as the DB name too.

I don't know what versions this works for besides CR2008, but you can go to the Database Expert, right-click on the table name, and choose "Rename".

Does Database:Set Datasource Location... do what you need?
