BOE XI3 wis 10901 against oracle

Hi everybody!

I have a problem when doing a report in WebI against an Oracle Universe.

The error is:

A database error occured. The database error text is: (CS) "Bad Connect String Format : DATABASE" . (WIS 10901)

It works fine with SQLServer and DB2.

I find it strange that I am able to connect to Oracle in the Designer, and even retrieve data from the Oracle tables?!

I am unexperienced with Oracle. Hope somebody can help me!

By the way, I am on a Windows 2003 server.

Best Regards,

HI

I think you'll need to check that the TNSNAMES.ORA and SQLNET.ORA files on the server are correct. If you can retrieve data from Designer from your Oracle tables (using your local copt of the TNSNAMES.ORA and SQLNET.ORA files) it would suggest that the connection used by WebI is incorrect.

Another thing to check is if the connection is being changed in the CMC and so is not using the same connection string as your local designer copy.

Regards

Charles
